Web Design

How much does a website costs?

The cost of a website can vary depending on many factors. Though our Custom Website Design projects generally start in the NZD$3,500 range for basic business sites and range upward depending on your unique needs. For a more affordable option, we also provide our Entry-Level Websites, which are based on pre-designed layouts. For a specific quote get in contact with us.

What platform do you build your websites on?

We build all of our websites on WordPress, the open-source Content Management System (CMS).

Will I be able to update the website myself?

Yes, WordPress is the most popular CMS (Content Management System) today. Our web process includes one hour of WordPress training, so most clients are more than capable of updating and adding website pages as needed. If, after launch, you need help updating your site you are more than welcome to commission us for specific work on your website.

Do you offer hosting?

Yes, we offer Website Care Plans, which includes premium hosting specially built for WordPress sites, for NZD$79 a month. You can read more about it here.

Can I see the design before the website is built?

Absolutely, the web design process starts with a research of the style you like and a discussion of features needed. After this, we create one or two different designs mockups for your website, then you can make some changes and observations. Once you are happy with the design we start building the website.

What WordPress theme do you use?

There are many free WordPress templates out there, however we hold a Premium Membership with Elegant Themes and use their powerful Divi Theme. Divi is a very flexible and smart theme that includes a big amount of features and modules and can be adapted to any web design we create. For Website Care Plans clients you don’t need to pay extra for this premium theme, it’s all included in your Plan.

The Design Process

How do you start your process?

Project Application
After you contact us regarding your idea or project you’ll be required to fill up a Project Application online, that will give you all the basic information about you and your business. 

First Meeting
After filling your application, we will arrange a meeting with you in person or online (Skype, Zoom, etc.). This first meeting is our Strategy Meeting and will allow us to dig deeper into your business and your project goals. As well as make sure we are a good fit for each other!

Proposal
After the first meeting, we create a detailed Project Proposal, in which we include a brief of the project, its goals and objectives, the design stages and a cost breakdown (Quote). This document also includes the Terms & Conditions, so you can have a clear idea about the whole process.

Do you allow revisions and changes?

Yes, we give you two round of revision and changes on all of our projects, these changes will be adjustments to our design proposals and not completely new designs.

How long does it take?

Turnaround time varies depending on the type and size of the project, and how many projects we are handling at the moment. However, standard times to deliver design proposals are:

  • Logo Design Proposals: 1-2 weeks
  • Branding Proposals: 2-4 weeks
  • Web Design: 2-4 weeks

Production Stage

Can I see a print proof before printing?

Yes. For any printing project we arrange print proof with the printers to make sure the final printed material is as we expected. You don’t need to deal with files and print technical issues.

How will I receive the finished designs?

Once we have received the final payments, we will supply a full set of files including original artwork. For print jobs we also supply the High Resolution PDF, which can be taken to the printer of your choice.

Will I be able to update these files?

Unless you have the Adobe Softwares installed in your computer you won’t be able to open the original artworks and make changes. We provide you with the original artworks because of our ownership policy, but if you need updates and alterations you can come back to us or work with another designer of your choice.

Payments & Ownership

How much do you charge?

When you ask for a quote from us we will give you a fixed price estimation based on your project and the skills required, this way you will know from the beginning how much a project is going to cost you without unpleasant surprises.

Do you required deposits to start?

Yes, after you approved our proposal document we invoice you 50% of the total amount of the project. We do not start the design process until this deposit has been done. This deposit is not refundable.

Can you make payment plans?

Absolutely, specially for big projects that can take more time to complete. We are happy to talk about your plans, budgets and time frames if that helps you to get a great result with no stress or pressures.

Who owns the copyright for your designs?

Copyright and ownership will depend on the type of project. However for all Branding and Websites Designs created specifically for your brand, we release full Ownership to you as soon as all payment has been made. CREATIVA will reserve the right to use any artwork for promotional purposes (portfolio showcase). All these details will be clearly specified on our Project Proposal: Terms & Conditions.
