PROJECT BRIEF

Te Manawa Museum commissioned CREATIVA with an illustration inspired on Frida Kahlo to be printed in large format and used as a photo stand-in with a face cutout. This project was inspired by the Frida Kahlo Exhibition that the Museum is bringing to New Zealand in March 2016.
The design process considered: The colour palette and Mexican fabric patterns; a background scenery, where we added natural foliage, to reflect her attachment to nature; and to feature Frida in a seated position referencing her physical disability.
